Steam Turbines


Steam turbines made by Howden Turbo GmbH – Frankenthal (ex KK&K) generate power up to 12MW.

These compact machines were originally designed and manufactured by Kuhnle, Kopp & Kausch AG – set up in 1899, that became afterwards Siemens Turbomachinery Equipment, and is today part of HOWDEN Group.

A particular feature of these steam turbines is the way that they have been designed to be modular. This makes them incredibly flexible and so able to fit with a wide range of application.

The Steam Turbines are designed to convert the inlet steam in mechanical power, and Howden Turbo – Frankenthal Steam Turbines are considered the most flexible and cheaper in the Market. Steam turbines could be used for generator drive for electrical power generation or for mechanical drive for rotating equipment, such as compressors and pumps.

Howden Turbo – Frankenthal could offer solutions for any demand, from simple CORE for packager, till to customized/designing system for sizes up to 12 MW.

PRODUCTS:

BASE

The BASE is a single-stage impulse turbine, designed both as a generator drive up to 1000 kW and mechanical drive up to 750 kW.

Applications:

Turbogenerator, i.e. for waste heat recovery, small CHP plants and decentralized solar plants.

BASE turbine for mechanical drive serves a wide range of applications.

CORE

The CORE is perfectly suitable for packaging companies and EPCs who complete the unit for their customers.

MONO turbines generate power up to 6 MW, with the option to have a special multi stage condensing module.

MONO CBA

New single stage turbine in compliance with API 611 for mechnical drive applications up to 2 MW.

TWIN

TWIN steam turbine is a dual casing turbine on one gearbox. Such dual casing allows regulated extraction.

TRI is a triple casing steam turbine with an integrated gearbox with two regulated extractions.
